Hurricane Harvey: 2017


Hurricane Harvey was formed august 17 and dissipated september 2. This hurricane affected Windward Islands, Suriname, Guyana, Nicaragua, Honduras, Belize, Cayman Islands, Yucatán, Peninsula, and the Southern and Eastern United States (especially Texas, Louisiana). Harvey was responsible for the death of around 88-107 people and displaced more than, 30,000 people. The damage from this hurricane cost around $125 billion dollars.

On august 18, Hurricane Harvey passed over the Windward Islands. The next day this storm weakened. Harvey reached a category 4 on august 24. It then affected Texas making it the first major hurricane since 2005. On august 26 it weakened again. After causing a lot of damage, it finally dissipated.
