Ixora, or West Indian Jasmine, is a genus of flowering plants that includes over 500 species of trees and bushes, which all grow bunches of small, vibrant red/orange flowers that all have 4 petals. Ixora grow best in tropical climates, and are indigenous to Tropical Asia. While not all species of ixora have a fragrance, the ones that do smell slightly similar to Gardenia. Many species are also used in traditional medicine, and are said to treat dysentery and tuberculosis. Ixora wood is also sometimes used to create small objects.
