Breadfruit

Native to New Guinea, the Maluku Islands, and the Philippines, breadfruit is a type of flowering tree that bears around 100 large, bumpy green fruits annually. The inside of this fruit is a white pulp, and the fruit is rarely eaten raw. Breadfruit can be cooked in basically any way, from baked to fried, and contains high levels of antioxidants, calcium, and more. Milky latex can be extracted from the breadfruit, and is consumed to help with stomach pain and diarrhea.
