Almond
Prunus dulcis
Native to Iran, almonds are very commonly classified as a nut, but in actuality, they are drupes. Its outside is fleshy and the brown seed inside is the almond “nut” people eat. Almond trees thrive in Mediterranean climate, and their seeds are a good source of Vitamin E, fiber, and protein. Almond oil can be extracted from the drupes, and it can be used to treat minor wounds and skin conditions, such as eczema.
